Music Festival for our kids - Posted: Mon, Mar 13, 2023, 11:37 am - By Kathleen Windsor
Something everyone in Didsbury looks forward to is "music, music, music" - and we're all gearing up for this year's Music Festival in Olds.

Great music as our kids perform at festival. The focus of the Olds and District Kiwanis Music Festival is teaching and learning. Festival participants are adjudicated in a workshop environment with the expectation that they will come away from the Festival with new skills and ideas, as well as increased motivation and enthusiasm.

This year's Band Adjudicators are Bill Dimmer (described as a “cornerstone” of Edmonton's music scene), and Oscar-Jose Garcia (retired Director of Bands at St. Mary Catholic School in Westlock).

All Didsbury High School ensembles will be performing in the Olds and District Kiwanis Music Festival, as will the Grade 7 & 8 bands from Westglen Middle School.

Parents and friends are welcome to attend Festival performances, so come cheer on our students, all outstanding ambassadors for our school and community!

All performances are at the TransCanada Theatre in Olds (4500 - 50 Street). Admission is free as the Kiwanis Club of Olds has sponsored the event.
