At some time during the year, every non-profit organization hosts an Annual General Meeting, a time for supporters to gather and reminisce over the past year's activities, and gear up for the coming year. The Mountain View Arts Society held theirs on Thursday, February 23rd at the Didsbury Museum.
The Arts Society is an organization that started back in 2011 to promote and encourage a variety of artistic opportunities and events for the enrichment and enjoyment of the general public. They host three signature events in Didsbury: "A Brush with Art" Art Show and Sale in April, Days of Yore in August, and the Mountain View Arts Festival in September. Elected that evening were: President - Maia Foster Vice-President - Mary Hatcher Secretary - Kathleen Windsor Treasurer - Bev Zwart Directors At-Large - Jack Payne, Doug Giesbrecht, and Merrilee Anthony (Past President) Everyone enjoyed the visit with special guest speakers, Doug Shaw and Ross Dabrusin, President, Mountain View Film Group. The history of this group, and the challenges and successes, was appreciated by those in attendance. Retiring Board members include Kevin Land, Deb Porter, Judi Newsome, and Deb Steiger, who all did a great job during the pandemic challenges of the last three years.
