Over the years, we've seen a lot of figure skaters entertain us with musical performances. This year, we are all invited to watch the Didsbury Figure Skaters show us how it's really done, as they skate during their "Skate, Rattle, and Roll" annual Ice Show on Saturday March 18, at 2 pm at the arena. For more than 50 years, the Didsbury ice carnival has provided an opportunity to showcase Didsbury's finest skaters from beginners through Starskaters.
The skaters range in age from 3 to 18 and will perform various routines specifically choreographed for this year's Carnival. The youngest skaters practice their routines for about 3 hours over a 6-week period, and older skaters practice 3 - 6 hours. Skaters who perform solos, duets, and trios have some freedom in developing their own routines, so a lot of creativity by the individual skaters will be showcased. The figure skating club has represented Didsbury in 4 different competitions this winter, and brought back many medals!! . Come watch the magic happen and show your support for our young athletes!!! Admission is by donation and everyone is welcome to come and watch the skaters perform! For more information, visit the website at www.didsburyfigureskating.com or on Facebook. The Memorial Complex is located at 1702 - 21 Avenue.
