If you have a desire for long days and nights, bad weather, wild animals, and a touch of adventure, Olds Search and Rescue may be just what you've been looking for!

Olds Search and Rescue Society's monthly meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesdays.Olds Search and Rescue Society is a ground SAR group, trained for both urban and rural settings, living in central Alberta.

Each member has made a commitment to continued training in order to provide timely and effective assistance to those in need.

Olds Search and Rescue responds to RCMP's request for assistance in handling search and rescue emergencies, and is a resource to the Town of Olds, County of Mountain View and the Province of Alberta.

Olds Search and Rescue Society's monthly meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesdays at the societies offices at 4502 - 46 Avenue Olds Alberta at 7:30 pm for the purpose of ongoing training and conducting the business of the society.

Members are given training in Search and Rescue fundamentals, First Aid and CPR (standard and wilderness), Navigation (map and compass and GPS), communications, lost person behaviour and civil emergencies. Some specific training is given to selected members to help them become search managers, low slope and high angle rescuers and course instructors.
