Our purpose is to provide an indoor facility to enable winter BMX racing and training for Alberta athletes. Our goal is to promote this new Olympic cycling sport and grow its participation here in Canada. The sport is very family oriented and participant driven with male and female riders ranging in age from 3-63. Open track riding, coaching, rental bikes and weekend racing are all available under the megadome in Olds. Come and race down a start ramp, across a dirt track with rollers, jumps and banked turns. The greatest sport on two wheels!

Heros With Wings is a group of moms who put their hearts into their youth, hockey and community. They created this event to raise money to help Carstairs Elementary school build a playground. This family focused event has shed light on the sport of Sledge Hockey and is becoming a valuable fundraiser for the Carstairs Elementary programs and the Breakfast program at Hugh Sutherland Middle/High School. The Carstairs Community Golf Course is conveniently located within Town limits, just ˝ km north of town on the east side of Highway 2A, thirty minutes north of Calgary. This is a full 18-hole, challenging golf course, featuring water hazards, sand traps, and beautifully landscaped grounds. The course is fitted with a practice green and driving range, and amenities include licensed dining facilities in the clubhouse, a snack bar and coffee shop, lessons, club rentals, pull or power carts, and of course, the Pro Shop. There is also an outdoor patio and barbecue facilities.

The Carstairs Rodeo Grounds are located at the south end of town near the Community Hall. Held in conjunction with Carstairs Beef and Barley Days, the third weekend in July, the Carstairs Rodeo is great family fun. Junior Rodeo events are held on Friday with the Central Alberta Rodeo Association's CARA Rodeo Friday night and Saturday. Events have included barrel racing, Poles, Breakaway Roping, Keyhole, Calf Tie-down Roping & Goat Tying!

The Didsbury Aquatic Centre includes a 25-metre five lane indoor swimming pool, a 150-foot waterslide, hot tub, steam room, and meeting room. The Aquatic Centre provides residents the opportunity to take part in competitive swimming, aquacize, recreational swimming, water sports of all kinds, lessons and more. The Aquatic Centre has a lot of programs scheduled including Red Cross swim lessons, private swim lessons, aquatic fitness.

Known as the Agri-Sportsplex in the summer and the Curling Rink in the winter months, this facility includes a 4-sheet curling rink ice surface, complete with lounge and kitchen facilities, Hogline Room, and mezzanine. The Curling Rink is available for rent from April to September. It seats 150 people and is great for banquets, meetings and weddings.

The Didsbury Dragons Community Football Club plays in the 9 Man Mountain View Football Conference. The League was formed in 2006 and is now comprised of six teams. New for this season is a North and a South Division. The North Divison teams are Drayton Valley - Frank Maddock Warriors, Edmonton Victory Crimson Knights and the Innisfail Cyclones Football Club. Located on the west end of town at the end of Main Street, this nine-hole golf course provides easy access for all ages. The Didsbury Golf Course is a pleasant community course where visitors are always welcome. This is an easy-to-walk course with a mixture of narrow and wide fairways. Three small ponds enter play on six holes, but the major challenge on this course is the small greens that are difficult targets. Our Country Kitchen restaurant is open from mid April until the end of the season. We cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner and can accomodate groups of up to 75 people for special occasions. We have the only outdoor patio in town!

Didsbury's Memorial Complex houses two skating rinks; the main ice which is 17,000 square feet, and the leisure ice which is 5,382 square feet. The Arena operates with the ice in from September until the end of March and the facility is available for rent depending on existing schedules. The Complex is home to the Didsbury Figure Skating Club, Didsbury Minor Hockey Association and the Mountain View Colts of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League.

The Sportsplex is owned and operated by the Town of Olds. The main ice surface (200’ X 85’) is used from approximately May 1st to August 10th for non-ice functions (dances, shows, banquets, graduation, etc.), and from mid-August to April for ice rentals. The auxiliary ice surface (180’ X 85’) is used from April 1st to October 15th for non-ice functions, and from approx. 1 October to March 31st for ice rentals. Arena for Olds Grizzlys hockey games.

Tai Chi is a healthy promoting exercise and a moving meditation. Sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday evening. Classes for beginners are offered in the fall and again in the new year.
