Open May 1 - October 15. Fenced for security and offers 43 serviced sites, each with electricity and water. Showers, washrooms and a sewer dumping station. The Carstairs Community Golf Course is conveniently located within Town limits, just ˝ km north of town on the east side of Highway 2A, thirty minutes north of Calgary. This is a full 18-hole, challenging golf course, featuring water hazards, sand traps, and beautifully landscaped grounds. The Carstairs Rodeo Grounds are located at the south end of town near the Community Hall. Held in conjunction with Carstairs Beef and Barley Days, the third weekend in July, the Carstairs Rodeo is great family fun. The shelter serves the needs of battered women with or without children, sexual assault victims and emotionally abused women by offering counselling, temporary safe accommodation and referral to other services. Walk-in and phone-in counselling is available 24 hours a day. There are no fees associated with this service. Referrals to the treatment program for men who batter their partners are also accepted. Our goal is to get baby clothes and items into the hands of those that really need them. We now have diapers of various sizes if they are needed. Companions Caring 4 U has been operating in the Olds, Sundre, Bowden and Didsbury areas since May 2003.
